We all know that Voldemort made 6 horcruxes (a diary, a ring, a locket, a cup, a diadem and Nagini) and and unintentional 7th: Harry Potter. But, what if Voldemort meant to make a horcrux out of Harry? a
Let’s start with a theory about “Why did Tom Riddle REALLY made horcruxes”, in the order of their creation and destruction, wait! they are the same? cool!: a
The Diary: Which belonged to him in his school years, as an orphan, also a freak found by Dumbledoor before he went to Hogwarts, it’s only logical to assume that his school years were not all shiny and peachy, he must have been miserable with few or no friends. The diary was his escapism, and he slipped a piece of his soul into it to keep his memories from fading. a
The Ring: Which belonged to his father, an heirloom of House Gaunt. He took care of the ring well, and slipped a part of his soul into it to give it later to the woman he falls for, so that she can always have him with her wherever she goes. Also the ring’s stone was the resurrection stone. You got to admit, he is a romantic. a
The Locket: Once belonged to Salazar Slytherin, the Hitler of the four founders of Hogwarts. Tom found it hidden in a cave where he and his orphanage “friends” ventured during one of their field trips. He decides to keep it, he loved it and could hear it talk to him sometimes, he thought that it belonged to someone special and had traces of their soul, and decides to slip a part of his soul as to find out more. Salazar and Tom were friends ever since, had lots of conversations and at last Salazar trusts Tom enough and decides he should be his heir. a
The Cup: Once belonged to Helega Hufflepuff, and was one of Hepzibah Smith’s treasures. Tom was a collector, an obsessive compulsive one actually, he stole it and decides to keep it, and because he never could make anyone feel better when they were down, he thought: what if I were inside of them? nearer to their hearts? and as so, he slips a part of his soul creating the horcrux, to help others feel better, how decent of him! a
The Diadem: Once belonged to Rowena Ravenclaw and stolen later by her daughter Helena. As the heir of Slytherin, Salazar told Tom about some magical belongings of his fellow founders of Hogwarts. Tom collects the diadem by charming Helena with his quick wits into telling him its location. He then thinks, I have Salazar’s locket and Helga’s cup, now I have Rowena’s diadem, I MUST SLIP A PART OF MY SOUL! I told you he was an obsessive compulsive. A cute one though. a
Harry Potter: Well, here is the real deal, Voldemort was lonely, he didn’t find the love of his life, he didn’t have any real friends, also he was getting old and ugly, no hair or nose and stuff. He wanted someone to understand him, a soulmate, he searched and searched and never found this person; so he thought: “What if I created the proper circumstances? For starters, I am an orphan”. But, Why Harry? Well, both of his parents were in Gryffindoor, he couldn’t find anything to complete his collection, so? Yeah, he picks James and Lilly to kill, with the most heavy heart of course, yes he had to kill to make each horcrux, but he had to, he never wanted to. And so, after killing James and Lilly, he realises, it would be a lot easier if I slipped a part of my soul into him, I am a socially awkward after all and a little dimwitted apparently. And so, as he was slipping a part of his soul into Harry, he realises, Harry is crying, he saw Voldemort killing his mother. Harry got mad and -even though he was just a baby- he stole the very essence of Voldemort, that irreplaceable part of his soul; the thing that made Voldemort too weak and kind of heartbroken, he wanted to have a soulmate but instead his soulmate betrayed him and stole his soul’s very essence. Weeping and heartbroken, Voldemort disappears to lick his wounds and try to recover. a
He finds Quirrell, Quirrell was a rebound, Voldemort became a parasite and wanted to suck Quirell’s soul as to fill the void Harry made. But, He realises that he can’t and seeks vengeance. And that’s when this series of trials to kill Harry starts. Actually were trials for stealing back his soul, but things got out of hands. a
Nagini: Come on, he liked snakes ever since Salazar told him about how great they are and how great pets they make, he himself has a big one lurking under Hogwarts. He taught him their language, and it turns out they really are smart. He slips a part of his soul to seek unconditional love, we do it with pet dogs and cats, he did it with a snake. His childhood really was that awful, right? a
But now, a big question needs to be answered: “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? WHAT ABOUT EVERY THING IN THE BOOKS?”. Well, the answer is simple: Dumbledoor. He is beyond smart, he is knowledgeable, and he has style.Just like Sherlock, the man gets bored, and decides to have a game of his own. He tells everyone that Voldemort is a maniac seeking immortality, that Lilly’s love is what saved Harry -the thing that kept Snape from killing Harry for reminding him of James-, and that no one shall speak of Voldemort’s name unless he wants to die, people got scared and followed Dumbledoor blindly. a
Why no one else knew about this story? cause Voldemort is so insecure that he didn’t tell anyone and Dumbledoor is a Jerk that’s why. But hey, he got what he deserved, he died because he stood in the way of a broken heart’s vengeance. The 7 books were really just a tough love story that went wrong. a
